Landon Donovan tests positive for the A(H1N1) flu virus

Los Angeles - Landon Donovan, captain of the United States national football team, tested positive for the new influenza virus A(H1N1) and was under observation, the daily Los Angeles Times reported Friday, quoting Donovan himself.
"I got home last night and when I woke up this morning I was just on fire so I took a temperature and had a 100.7 fever and figured something was going on. So I went to the doctor and sure enough," the striker said.

Los Angeles, Aug. 10 : David Beckham and his LA Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan seem to have put their differences aside as Beckham was praised by Donovan for his contribution in Galaxy''s 2-1 victory over New England.
“David''s been great since he''s been back, in every way. He''s added something off the field to the group and his qualities on the field make us a lot better,” The Telegraph quoted Donovan, as saying.
The pair had a falling out when Donovan slammed Beckham’s captaincy and his lack of commitment to the MLS earlier this year.

Munich - United States midfielder Landon Donovan started a 10-day training camp at Bayern Munich on Tuesday and doesn't rule out a move to the German football champions.
Donovan, 26, is training in Munich in keep fit in the off-season after his club Los Angeles Galaxy failed to make the Major League Soccer playoffs. The next season starts in March.
"That's one of the best teams in the world ... If January rolls around and there's interest, and the league is willing to discuss it, I would be excited to talk about it," said Donovan recently on his home page.
