SRK to wear Malaysian samping at Datuk ceremony

Indian superstar Shah Rukh KhanKuala Lumpur, Dec 5 : For Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan, December 6 would be a double treat – he will not only receive Malaysian knighthood but will also wear the official state samping during a special investiture ceremony.

The Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan will be honoured with Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM) award.

The ceremony, which will be held in Ayer Keroh, will see the King Khan donning the RM 3,000 specially made black samping adorned with kesidang flower motif.

Mumbai attacks: FBI, Scotland Yard clears Malaysia of involvement

Kuala Lumpur, Dec. 5 : The US Federal Bureau of Investigation and Britain''s Scotland Yard have cleared Malaysia of any involvement in the attacks in Mumbai.

The New Strait Times quoted Malaysian Foreign Minister Dr. Rais Yatim as saying on Thursday that the Malaysian connection has not been proven.

"The so-called evidence in the media linking the attacks with Islam and Malaysia cannot be proven. Therefore, allegations about Malaysia''s link to the attacks should not be brought up any more," he said when responding to a question in the Malaysian Parliament.

Rais also claimed that since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Islam''s image has been tainted.

Malaysian man killed for hogging karaoke microphone

Malaysia FlagKuala Lumpur - A Malaysian man was stabbed to death for hogging the microphone at a karaoke club in the eastern state of Sabah on Borneo Island, a news report said Thursday.

Abdul Sani Doli, 23, angered fellow customers at the karaoke bar late Wednesday night when he refused to give up his turn and continued singing despite protests, said district police chief Rosli Mohamad Isa.

A heated argument with three other customers then developed into an exchange of blows, leading to Abdul Sani being stabbed in the chest outside the club, Rosli was quoted as saying by The Star Online.

Outrage in Kuala Lumpur over demolition of Hindu shrine

Kuala Lumpur, Dec 3 (ANI): The Malaysian Indian Congress has expressed anger over the Kuala Lumpur City Hall''s (DBKL) decision to demolis a 15-year-old Hindu shrine in Taman Desa, Seputeh.

DBKL issued a notice indicating the actions it would take on October 23, but the message was pasted on the shrine''''s wall and not handed over to the management.

Asking for an explanation from DBKL on demolition of shrine, which was located on a field, MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said he would talk to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
