London, Sept 7 : While the royals are known for their aversion to endorsements, a huge furore has been created after Prince Harry’s snaps playing polo were used by a posh brand in its huge advertising billboards.

Fifteen feet-high posters featuring the Prince have been used by elite clothing brand, Hackett for promoting their expensive sportswear.

The images, reportedly taken at a match sponsored by the firm more than a year ago, show Harry wearing a polo shirt flashing a Hackett logo.

Polo fans were taken by surprise when they noticed the prince’s picture being used to endorse the company’s elite sports kit.

London, Sept 7 : A pet Labrador had to have an operation to remove 13 golf balls, which he had swallowed on his walks with his owner.

While walking on the local golf course near his home in Dunfermline, Fife, the canine swallowed the balls.

His owner, Chris Morrison, noticed an unusual rattling sound coming from the stomach of the black Labrador, Oscar, and when he took him to the vet, it was found that he had swallowed 13 balls.

The balls, which weighed around 45 grams (1.6oz) and around four centimetres (1.57 inches) in diameter, were lodged in the five-year-old dog''s stomach.

Morrison, a planning administrator, said one of the balls had been in her stomach so long that it had turned black and was decomposing.

London, Sept 7 : A mammoth tribute cut out of thousands of trees, which honours Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin, has been spotted on Google Earth.

According to EnglishRussia, the blog which spotted the image, the colossal message was created by Russian woodcutters in 1970 to mark the 100 year anniversary of the Communist leader''s birth.

Cut into a forest in a remote region of Siberia, the message says "Lenin is 100" in Russian.

London - A teenage girl died after a car was caught in raging floods in Wales late Friday as heavy rainfall and strong winds caused flooding and severe disruption across in southern Britain.

Police said the 17-year-old died in hospital while two people with her survived but suffered hypothermia after their car rolled over into a swollen river near the remote mid-Wales village of Powys.

The Atlantic weather front swept across the valleys of southern Wales, leaving streets and homes flooded and drivers stranded in their vehicles.

Forecasters said some areas in south-west England would experience the equivalent of more than two weeks of rainfall in 24 hours.

London, Sept 6 : "Greek Rural Postmen and Their Cancellation Numbers" has been named as the oddest book title of the past 30 years.

The book by Derek Willan, a comprehensive record of Greek postal routes, topped the list with 13 percent of the 1,000 international public votes.

The title was chosen from the winners of the annual competition that began in 1978, according to the Bookseller magazine.

Greek postmen trounced over “People Who Don’t Know They’re Dead” and “How To Avoid Huge Ships” into second and third place with 11 and 10 percent votes respectively.
