Sony Ericsson launches its W705 Walkman phone in India

The Sony Ericsson W705 Walkman phone, featuring the popular walkman characteristics, like TrackID, SenseME, Music Recognition, and PlayNow arena online mobile content store, offers excellent audio quality similar to the award-winning W980 Walkman phone. The advanced shake control feature of the W705 allows users to manage their music easily.

Meanwhile, Sony Ericsson has announced that it planning to cut a further 2,000 jobs to make the savings of 400m euros. The company has already cut 2000 jobs under its cost cutting drive. The announcement has come after the JV disclosed a pre-tax loss of 358m euros ($469m; £316m) in the first three months of the current year. In a statement, the company has said, "As expected, the first quarter of this year has been extremely challenging for Sony Ericsson due to continued weak global demand."
