Motorola & Pressmart Bring ‘Live News’ On Mobile PhonesMotorola India and Pressmart Media have made announcement about the launching of the live ‘news-on-the-mobile’ service on three handsets including Moto VE66, Motosurf A3000 and MotoROKR EM35, which are slated for distribution in the Indian market.

The company’s release said that news-on-the-mobile service, which is powered by Pressmart1and 2, would provide consumers access to branded news content.

The release also said that by selecting the WAP link ‘Daily News’ on their Motorola handsets, consumers can get free news content at once.

Moreover, the service also permits users to access their favorite newspapers while on the move. The newspapers offered through this service comprise Indian Express, The Financial Express, The Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle4.

Mr. Faisal Siddiqui, head of India Operations, Motorola Mobile Devices, clarified, “We are delighted to bring the unique news-on-the-mobile service to the information-seeking Indian for whom news is an integral part of everyday life.”

“New applications on Motorola mobile phones are driven out of our desire to anticipate and fulfill Indian consumers’ needs and aspirations,” Mr. Siddiqui added.

The ‘news-on-the-mobile’ service is specifically designed for the mobile screen for best viewing experience.

To access the free news content, a GPRS connection is required.
