Living up to its tagline ‘Open Happiness’, The Coca-Cola Company once again has come up with its Founders Program, this time in a completely new avatar!

The Georgia, Atlanta-based carbonated drink company, Coca-Cola got registered in the United States on March 27, 1944. Since then, with its strong force of 129,000 employees, it has captured an enormous market share in food and beverages segment. Its intricate supply chain management ensured it the spot of the world's most valuable brand in 2011 (Interbrand's best global brand study). Today, Coca-Cola’s market cap stands at $179 billion.

Ed Markey calls for increased investment in railways

Immediately after a deadly derailment on the railroad’s Northeast corridor, Senator Edward Markey said that investment in railways should be increased. He said that Republicans are playing ‘a dangerous game of railway Russian roulette’. Markey and Connecticut US Sen. Richard Blumenthal said that investments in the nation’s railway infrastructure need to be increased.

They said that a safety technology called positive train control is needed to be implemented as it will help automatically decelerate or stop trains so as to prevent accidents like the one that occurred outside of Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

Netflix in talks with Chinese companies for partnership to enter the online video market

According to reports, Netflix is having discussions with a Chinese media company along with some other companies as it wants to enter the online video market in China. According to people who didn’t want to be named, Netflix talked to companies including Wasu Media Holding in relation to forming a partnership.

When asked about a possible China partnership, a spokeswoman, Anne Marie Squeo said that by the end of 2016, Netflix is looking forward to become almost global.

Montana Wildlife Officials want to keep existing Wolf Hunting Rules

On Thursday, wildlife officials of Montana stated that they want to keep current wolf hunting rules in place for the future hunting and trapping season. The officials said they have idea that many have hit the right formula in how to manage the predators.

John Vore of the game management bureau chief for Fish, Wildlife and Parks, told commissioners of Fish and Wildlife that the agency had made a plan that will keep balance between keeping a thriving wolf population and ensuring that the number of wolves do not get too high.

Daily dose of Vitamin B3 could reduce Risk of Common Skin Cancers

A new research from Australia has showed that taking daily dose of vitamin B3 could help keep the most common types of skin cancer at bay. The benefits of nicotinamide, a form of vitamin B3, are especially meant for people who are at high risk of the disease.

The study was conducted by the University of Sydney, showing 23% reduction in the incidence of new, non-melanoma skin cancers after taking vitamin B3. The people who showed this reduction in their risk had at least two of the cancers in the previous five years.

The study results have implications for reducing the health burden and cost of skin cancer. The Society of Clinical Oncology says that skin cancer is the most common form of the disease in fair-skinned people.

Allen Institute for Brain Science takes big step towards mapping Human Brain

The Allen Institute for Brain Science was founded over a decade ago and is backed by $500 million from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.

Today, the institute said that it has launched a new database that has marked a major step towards creating a comprehensive map of the human brain, called the Allen Cell Types Database.

In the philanthropist’s 10-year plan, it is first initiative to untangle the intricacies of human thoughts and actions. This would also be helpful in unlocking the mysteries behind some of the brain’s most debilitating diseases.

The Allen Cell Types Database has information about 240 neurons found in the brains of mice, the cells that are similar to those in the human brain.
