Sia apologises for `paedophilia` impression in new video `Elastic Heart`

Wellington, Jan 9 - Australian singer Sia has apologized on Twitter for showing "paedophilia" in her latest video of her single ' Elastic Heart' featuring Shia LaBeouf and 12-year-old dancer Maddie Ziegler .

The 39-year-old songstress tweeted her apology saying that she anticipated some " paedophilia" and all she could say is Ziegler and LaBeouf are two of the only actors she felt could play these two warring ' Sia' self states, Stuff.co.nz reported.

The Australian pop singer also posted that she would like to apologize to those who feel triggered by the video but her intention was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody.

Rupee at four-week high of 62.35 against dollar

Mumbai - The rupee strengthened by 32 paise at over four-week high of 62.35 against the dollar in early trade today at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on sustained selling of the US currency by exporters and banks amid higher opening in the domestic equity market.

Forex dealers said besides increased selling of the American currency by exporters and banks and a higher opening of the domestic equity market, the dollar's weakness against other currencies overseas, supported the rupee.

Yesterday, the rupee jumped 50 paise to close at 62.67 against the Greenback on persistent selling of dollars by banks and hopes of capital inflows in view of a strong equity market.

India's sovereign rating upgrade likely in 2015: Report

Deutsche BankMumbai : Improving external balances and government actions may drive a sovereign rating upgrade for the country during the current calendar year, according to a report by Deutsche Bank (DB).

It was despite the fact that market was not yet factoring in a rating upgrade, the report said.

"We assign a high likelihood of a sovereign ratings upgrade for India as most macro indicators have exhibited improvements in past two years," DB Group managing director, head of research, Abhay Laijawala said while unveiling 'India equity strategy: 2015 outlook' here Thursday.

The rating upgrade for the country will happen shortly, however, it will depend on the forthcoming annual Budget, he said.

coral reefWashington, Jan 8 : A new study has revealed that lowering of the ocean's pH is making it harder for corals to grow their skeletons and easier for bioeroding organisms to tear them down.

According to the study, these reefs may have a harder time growing toward the ocean surface, where they get sunlight they need to survive.

The study, led by scientists at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), highlights the multiple threats to coral reef ecosystems, which provide critical buffers to shoreline erosion, sustain fisheries that feed hundreds of millions of people, and harbor 25 percent of all marine species.

People who watch `too much TV` may not value nutrition

According to a University of Houston (UH) researcher, all of those hours in front of the television may lead to increased snacking .

A "fatalistic view toward eating well" and "nutritional knowledge" are two of the measurements professor Temple Northup included in a cross-sectional survey of 591 participants. He also included "television and news media usage" and "nutritional intake."

Northup stated that the research model was based on similar measures that look at cancer prevention.
