Mumbai civic body demolishes ramp outside actor Shah Rukh Khan's house

Mumbai, Feb 14 : Residents living near Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's residence in Mumbai rejoiced after the city's main civic body demolished an illegal ramp outside his house, which was causing inconvenience to commuters.

As per reports, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) workers and police reached Khan's residence, known as 'Mannat', in Bandra early on Saturday morning to raze the ramp.

The illegal ramp was constructed by Khan and closed off access to the lane adjoining the house, causing hindrance to residents.

Residents were perturbed as they were not being allowed to use that lane to go to Mount Mary's Church.

HDFC Bank Q3 net profit jumps 20% at Rs 2,794.51 crore

New Delhi: Private lender HDFC Bank today reported 20 percent jump in net profit at Rs 2,794.51 crore for the third quarter ended December 2014 on account of higher interest income.

The bank had reported a net profit of Rs 2,325.70 crore during the same period of last financial year, HDFC Bank said in a filing to stock exchanges.

Total income of the bank rose to Rs 14,930.74 crore during the October-December period of FY15 from Rs 12,738.95 crore in the corresponding quarter of last financial year.

Net non performing assets (NPAs) stood at 0.26 percent as compared to 0.3 percent a year ago, while gross NPAs were at 0.99 percent as against 1.01 percent a year ago.

NASA plans to develop submarine to explore Titan's mysterious methane sea

Washington, Feb. 14 - NASA has recently developed a concept to send a submarine to explore Saturn's moon Titan, which has mysterious vast lakes of liquid methane and ethane.

At 2015's Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) Symposium, a Titan submarine concept was showcased by NASA Glenn's COMPASS Team and researchers from Applied Research Lab, Discovery News reported.

Envisaged as a possible mission to Titan's largest sea, Kracken Mare, the autonomous submersible would be designed to make a 90 day, 2,000 kilometer (1,250 mile) voyage exploring the depths of this vast and very alien marine environment.
