Kejriwal refuses to support BJP

Arvind-KejriwalNew Delhi, Dec 10 : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won't prop up the BJP in power in Delhi's hung assembly, its founder leader Arvind Kejriwal said Tuesday.

Speaking a day after senior colleague Prashant Bhushan suggested giving issue-based support to the BJP, Kejriwal said: "Neither we will take support nor give support (to form a government). There is no question."

Kejriwal instead advised the Bharatiya Janata Party, which with 31 seats is the single largest group in the 70-member house, to take power with the help of the Congress, which has eight legislators.

Mahesh Babu impressed by son's dubbing

Mahesh-BabuChennai, Dec 10 : Superstar Mahesh Babu is impressed by his seven-year-old son Gautham Krishna's ability to lip sync and mouth dialogues in upcoming Telugu action-thriller "1: Nenokkadine". Gautham plays the younger version of Mahesh in the film, slated to release next year.

"Mahesh was extremely happy that Gautham was able to perfectly mouth his lines in the very first take. He didn't even need retakes as he was so confident with his lines and even produced the required modulation for the scenes," the film's director B. Sukumar told IANS.

Thailand PM vows to continue to perform duties

yingluck-shinawatraBangkok, Dec 10 : Thailand Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra Tuesday pledged to continue performing her duties in accordance with the constitution until a new prime minister is elected.

In a statement made after a special cabinet meeting, Shinawatra pleaded with the public to protect democracy, and urged protestors to stop the rally and to start preparing for the next general elections slated for Feb 2, 2014, Xinhua reported.

The prime minister said she had made every compromise possible, and wished to be treated fairly.

Sensex trades flat during pre-noon session

Sensex trades flat during pre-noon sessionMumbai, Dec 10 : A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 82.18 points or 0.39 percent down in the pre-noon trade Tuesday.

Good buying was seen in IT sector. Selling pressure was observed in banking index (bankex), capital goods and power sectors.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,293.58 points, was trading at 21,244.24 points in the pre-noon session, down 82.18 points or 0.39 percent from previous day's close at
21,326.42 points.

Avika has gained immense popularity through "Chinnari Pellikuthuru", the Telugu dubbed version of "Balika Vadhu". It was her debut TV show in Hindi, but she is no longer associated with it.

UN chief concerned over religious violence in Syria

Ban-Ki-moonUnited Nations, Dec 10 : UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon expressed concern over the targeting of people based on their religion, community or ethnic affiliation in Syria, after a group of nuns went missing from the town of Maaloula.

Ban, in a statement released Monday, said he "remains deeply troubled by the targeting of places of worship and religious representatives in Syria's conflict", reported Xinhua.

Ban added that these concerns are exacerbated by the recent disappearance of 12 nuns from Saint Tecla Orthodox Convent in Maaloula, about 56 km from the Syrian capital of Damascus.
