Global mining giant, BHP Billiton has opened a new ''Integrated Remote Operations Centre'' in Perth allowing staff members will be able to control several important functions at the Pilbara mine from the remote location.

A team of about 70 people at the new Integrated Remote Operations Centre will look after logistics and mining work on the company's seven Pilbara mines. The centre will be operational 24 hours a day around the year. It was inaugurated on Tuesday by Western Australian Premier Colin Barnett and BHP iron ore head Jimmy Wilson.

According to the latest data available, the total retail sales have risen by just 0.1 per cent during the month of May in Australia as consumers remained cautious about spending their money.

The rise in an improvement from a revised 0.1 per cent decrease in April but is much below analyst expectations of a 0.3 per cent rise in retail spending in the country. The retail sales for March were also revised from 0.4 per cent to fall of 0.6 per cent. The data showed that Australians spent a seasonally adjusted $21.8 billion in May.

Kolkata, July 2 : State-run Hindustan Copper Ltd. (HCL) will hit the markets Wednesday with offers to sell off 4.01 percent stake of the company.

"The promoter (government) proposed to sell 37,119,152 equity shares of the face value of Rs. 5 each aggregating approximately 4.01 percent of the paid-up equity shares capital of the company (HCL)," according to a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Tuesday.

Mumbai, July 2 : Filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar may rope in Aditya Roy Kapur for his next film, but says the last word on the cast will happen only when he finishes the scripting.

Known for directing films like "David" and "Shaitan", the director hasn't titled his film yet.

"I am still writing my next film and not decided about the cast yet. I am still working on the script and don't want to comment on it. I just met him (Aditya) once and we are talking. I don't want to reveal anything more than that," Nambiar told IANS.

The Swift RS comes with new styling and graphics that give it a distinct sporty character and looks. Swift RS will be available only in limited numbers and for a short period, a company spokesperson said.
