Ram Charan, Allu Arjun donate Rs.20 Lakh for Uttarakhand relief

allu-arjun-ram-charanChennai, July 2 : Telugu actors Ram Charan Teja, son of actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, and his cousin Allu Arjun chipped in Rs. 10 lakh each towards the Uttarakhand disaster relief fund.

Earlier, actor Pawan Kalyan, younger brother of Chiranjeevi, donated Rs. 24 Lakh for the same cause.

Confirming the news, Allu Sirish, younger brother of Arjun posted on his Twitter page: "Charan and Bunny (Arjun) gave Rs. 10 lakh each, (while) Kalyan garu gave Rs 24 lakh".

Members from Chiranjeevi's fan club have tuned in up to Rs. 25 lakh for the victims.

AirAsia India to start flying from October, bring down fares

Air-AsiaNew Delhi, July 2 : AirAsia is hopeful of making flying in India more affordable by bringing down airfares and improving networks, chief executive officer Tony Fernandes said Tuesday.

He said the company is aiming to launch its operation in India from October.

"We came to apprise the minister about the developments that have taken place," Fernandes told reporters after meeting Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh at his official residence here.

Delhi Metro daily ridership crosses 23 lakh

Delhi-MetroNew Delhi, July 2 : Delhi Metro ridership Monday touched a new high of over 23.50 lakh, an official statement said.

"The Metro trains carried 2,362,279 passengers Monday, surpassing the 2,332,298 figure of June 18," the statement said Tuesday.

According to Delhi Metro, the daily footfall has been over 23 lakh in June.

The usually overcrowded Blue Line (Dwarka-Noida City Centre/Vaishali) recorded the maximum ridership of 925,707 followed by Yellow Line (Jahangirpuri-Huda City Centre) at 860,985.

The Red Line (Rithala-Dilshad Garden) carried over three lakh passengers.
