Chennai, June 27 : The $6-billion Danish group Danfoss A/S will invest $100 million in India by 2015 as part of its $750 million global investment plan, a top group official said.

"Globally, we plan to invest around $750 million by 2015. We are looking out for acquisition in our core areas. In India, we will be investing around $100 million and if need be we will up the investment," Niels B. Christiansen, Danfoss's president and chief executive, told IANS during a recent visit to Tamil Nadu capital Chennai.

Mumbai, June 27 : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Thursday met Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray shortly after his arrival here.

The meeting took place before Modi went to address a Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) core committee meeting in the city where he was accorded a rousing reception.

Details of what transpired at the Modi-Thackeray meeting were not available. The Shiv Sena is the oldest ally of the BJP.

Party leaders including state president Devendra Fadnavis and hundreds of activists welcomed him at the Mumbai airport.

Berlin, June 27 : Bremen have signed central defender Luca Caldirola from Inter Milan until June 2017.

Italy's Under-21 international team captain Caldirola will consolidate Bremen's defence for the upcoming season as he put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Germans Wednesday. The former Inter Milan central defender played for second division side Brescia Calcio on loan recently, reports Xinhua.

"Luca is an interesting player. Despite his young age he has plenty of experience. He is technically skilled and creative. We are delighted that he settled for Bremen," manager Thomas Eichin said.

Mumbai, June 27 : Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor essays a journalist named Yashin in Prakash Jha's upcoming political thriller "Satyagraha". She says her character plays a key part in bringing together the entire movement shown in the film.

"Yasmin kind of puts together the whole revolution, brings together the entire movement that we have (shown) in the film. It's strong, it's intense and I am happy that Prakashji thought of me for this role," the 32-year-old said here Wednesday from London via a video chat at the first look launch of the movie.

Chennai, June 27 : Budget airline AirAsia Thursday revised the schedule of its daily Kolkata-Bangkok flight that will come into effect from July 15.

A statement issued by the airline said its daily Kolkata-Bangkok flight (FD 2672) has been rescheduled to depart Kolkata at 1:45 a. m. and arrive in Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport at 5.55 a. m. from July
15.

"Meanwhile, daily flights from Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport to Kolkata (FD 2671) will depart at 12:05 a. m. and arrive in Kolkata at 1:15 a. m., allowing passengers to enjoy a full day in Bangkok before catching their flight back to India," the statement said.
