25 percent emissions cut makes economic sense: WWF

carbon-emissionsSydney, June 3 : The Australia WWF Monday released an economic study proposing that Australia could increase its emissions reduction target from 5 to 25 percent by 2020 via the carbon price at very little cost to the economy.

The analysis by Vivid Economics and Monash University found a small additional impact on gross domestic product (GDP) of 0.01 percent, and around 0.06 percent on gross national income.

South Korea's consumer prices rise

South-Korea-consumerSeoul, June 3 : South Korea's consumer prices rose 1 percent in May from a year earlier due to a fall in farm goods and oil product prices, a government report showed Monday.

Consumer prices rose 1 percent on-year in May after gaining 1.2 percent in the prior month, according to a report by Statistics Korea.

The figure was the lowest since September 1999 when the prices increased 0.8 percent, and stayed in the 1-percent range for seven straight months, reported Xinhua.

'Shortcut Romeo' one step ahead of 'Johnny Gaddaar': Neil

In "Johnny Gaddaar", Neil played Vikram, a member of a gang which runs a gambling club and conducts other underhand deals. In the film, his character goes to any extent to make money. Neil's performance was appreciated.
