Sindh HC allows Benazir Bhutto, her sisters-in-law to import bulletproof vehicles

Karachi, Sep 29 : The Sindh High Court has allowed Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto and her sisters-in-law to import bulletproof vehicles.

A division bench of the court comprising Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and Justice Faisal Arab allowed Bhutto and her family members to import bulletproof vehicles because the Interior Ministry had given no-objection certificates, Bhutto’s counsel Abubakar Zardari said.

The ministry had allowed them to import three bulletproof Toyota Land Cruisers; the Daily Times quoted Zardari, as saying.

One of the Bhutto’s sisters-in-law, Faryal Talpur, is the cover candidate for the PPP presidential candidate Makhdoom Amin Fahim

Bhutto and her family are on record as saying that they face a constant threat from extremists, and therefore the necessity of these bulletproof vehicles has been deemed. (With inputs from ANI)
