Until now, the sperm offered by men had been considered as only contribution to reproduction. For a long time, scientists have been trying to understand why men exist. Now, according to the scientists from United Kingdom, they have found the answer.

The British scientists said males exist because they are needed for a process called ‘sexual selection’. According to them, the process helps species to protect against disease.

Study finds link between Memory Performance with Hippocampal Volume and Concussion History

In a new study, researchers examined a link between memory performance with hippocampal volume and history of concussion, which led some former NFL players to impaired memory problems in later life.

During the study, published in JAMA Neurology, researchers examined 28 retired athletes. Out of them, about eight athletes were diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The researchers also observed 21 cognitively healthy control group participants who didn’t have any history of concussion. In addition, six control participants, who were with MCI but no concussion history, were also a part of the study.

Dance not enough to replace exercise

According to a new study, dance classes are not enough to fulfill the requirement of exercise. The study has been published in the journal Pediatrics. It has been conducted by researchers with UC San Diego and San Diego State University.

They made use of accelerometers to measure the amount of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity received by children; these children were engaged in seven different types of dance classes such as ballet.

Woman gives birth to rare identical triplets

On Saturday, identical triplets were born in Texas. Silvia Hernandez and Raul Torres are the parents, who welcomed babies Catalina, Ximena and Scarlett. The babies are born a few days earlier than the expected time. The triplets came in the world just minutes apart at Corpus Christi Medical Center and each girl was weighing of 4lbs 11ozs.

In addition to extremely rare birth of triplets, two of them are conjoined at the pelvis. Torres told ABC News that they are fine. He said so as his wife recovered from her cesarean section.
