Dax Shepard and I are done having kids: Kristen Bell

The 'House of Lies' actress appeared on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' seven weeks after giving birth to daughter Delta.

Element of doubt in Prime Minister's words: Congress

New Delhi, Feb 17 : The Congress on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's refusal to give a statement in the Parliament assuring people's security and respect to every individual's religion creates an element of doubt.

" Narendra Modi had assured in the meeting that India will be an inclusive society and all religions will be given its due share and respect. Any attack on any of the religion will not be tolerated. This statement is what people expected to hear from the Prime Minister in the Parliament," said Congress leader PC Chacko.

NASA to send submarine to Saturn's moon Titan

Washington: NASA is planning to send a nuclear-powered submarine to explore one of the methane seas located on Saturn's moon Titan.

The single-tonne concept robot submarine is equipped with a seafloor camera and sampling system.

The submarine could fit into a space plane such as Boeing's X-37, which was recently used for a classified Air Force mission.

The plane could land on Kraken Mare, the largest known body of liquid on Titan that consists mostly of liquid methane, or possibly drop the submarine using a parachute, 'ibtimes. Com' reported.

"The vehicle would use conventional propulsors to yaw around, using a sun sensor to determine the initial azimuth to Earth and begin communication using a terrestrial radio as a more precise reference," NASA said.

Changing stem cell structure may help fight obesity

London: Scientists have found that reducing the size of tiny hair like structures on stem cells stops them from turning into fat cells, a discovery that may allow for new treatments to prevent obesity.

The research, conducted at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), found that a slight regulation in the length of primary cilia, small hair-like projections found on most cells, prevented the production of fat cells from human stem cells taken from adult bone marrow.

Part of the process by which calories are turned into fat involves adipogenesis, the differentiation of stem cells into fat cells, researchers said.

The study showed that during this process of adipogenesis, the length of primary cilia increases associated with movement of specific proteins onto the cilia.

Mysterious giant clouds spotted on Mars

London: Mysterious cloud-like plumes seen reaching high above the surface of Mars have puzzled scientists studying the atmosphere of the Red Planet.

On two separate occasions in March and April 2012, amateur astronomers reported definite plume-like features developing on the planet.

The plumes were seen rising to altitudes of over 250 km above the same region of Mars on both occasions. By comparison, similar features seen in the past have not exceeded 100 km.

"At about 250 km, the division between the atmosphere and outer space is very thin, so the reported plumes are extremely unexpected," said Agustin Sanchez-Lavega of the Universidad del Pais Vasco in Spain, lead author of the paper published in the journal Nature.
