Will pursue growth plans at full throttle from March: AirAsia

Air AsiaNew Delhi: No-frills carrier AirAsia India has said it will pursue its growth plans at full throttle from March with the induction of more aircraft and expansion of the route network.

As part of its summer schedule from March to October, which is yet to be finalised, the budget carrier would be looking at 100 frequencies per week and adding one aircraft every month in the fleet, AirAsia India chief executive Mittu Chandilya said here last week.

"Full expansion will take place from March when we introduce more flights and new routes. We also plan to induct one aircraft per month... From March," Chandilya said.

Will act in Punjabi film if I get a good script: Ayushmann

Ayushmann KhurranaHyderabad: Bollywood actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana says he is ready to do a Punjabi film provided the script is novel and out-of-the-box.

"I am open to Punjabi films. That's because it's my language. And if there is a novel idea, out of the box concept, I will be open to it. It's easier to act in the language you are thinking," he told reporters.

Ayushmann, who started off as a radio jockey and later became television presenter before making his Bollywood debut in 'Vicky Donor' in 2012, said he is quite fearless as his expectations from life are minimal.

US President Obama arrives in India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was at the Air Force Station at Palam to greet the visiting dignitaries. The three shared pleasantries before President Obama sat in his presidential vehicle 'The Beast' and left for his hotel ITC Maurya.

The others who were present to greet President Obama at the airport included Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal and Indian Ambassador to the US, S Jaishankar, among others.

Vettori becomes Kiwis' most capped player in sixth ODI against Lanka

Daniel VettoriWellington, Jan 25 - Veteran left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori became New Zealand's most capped ODI cricketer as the hosts went in to bat first in the sixth one-day against Sri Lanka in Dunedin.

Vettori broke Stephen Fleming's record career tally of 279 appearances as the left-armer came in for Nathan McCullum in the spinners' rotation for his 280th ODI appearance.

New Zealand Cricket president Stephen Boock gave a special presentation to Vettori before play, and the bowler lead the team when they took the field later on Sunday, after posting a 316-run target for Sri Lanka to win, Stuff.co.nz reported.
