New York, Dec 31 : Olivia Munn has revealed that she was tomboy growing up and was never interested in doing makeup or styling her hair like her sisters.

While talking to the Popular Mechanics, the 34-year-old 'Mortdecai' star said that though she has embraced her womanhood now, as a kid, she used to spend time with her brothers making huge fort and string out electricity from inside and build an air-conditioning unit, New York Daily News reported.

In the winters they used to build igloos, and occasionally would also create batteries out of pennies, she added.

London, Dec 31 : The Aviation Safety Network (ASN) has named 2014 as one of the safest years in 111 years of flight despite the Malaysian Airlines' MH370, MH17 and AirAsia QZ8501 disasters.

The number of passenger fatalities was 526 in 19 accidents, 150 deaths below the decade's average of 676 deaths over 32 accidents, according to the ASN.

New Delhi, Dec 31 : The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Wednesday recommended a base price of 2,720 crore rupees per mega hertz (Mhz) for pan India 3G spectrum.

The base price is about 22 percent lower than the previous auction which would provide relief to the mobile operators. Earlier in 2010, the 3G spectrum was auctioned by the government at pan-India reserve price of 3,500 crore rupees per mega hertz.

TRAI has also recommended that Department of Telecom (DoT) should put additional 15 mega hertz for auction which will have to be obtained in exchange of spectrum, that is, with the Defence services.

Washington, Dec 31 : NASA's Mars Opportunity rover is facing some problems with memory and been going through bouts of "amnesia" because of flash memory storage failures.

NASA project manager John Callas said that the Opportunity rover uses two different types of memory: "volatile" and "non-volatile", the Verge reported.

The volatile memory is akin to a computer's RAM, so any data stored there is wiped every time the rover shuts down, while non-volatile memory is where the important data like telemetry - the measurements the rover is collecting - is stored so that it can be accessed whenever Opportunity is powered on.
