The 17-time Grand Slam winner, seeded four, was barely tested in his 6-2 6-4 6-2 victory over the Slovakian. The Swiss, knocked out in the quarter-final by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in 2013, will face Diego Sebastian Schwartzman for a place in the last 32 following the Argentine's 6-4 6-2 7-5 win over Gastao Elias of Portugal.

Exit polls: Poroshenko wins Ukrainian presidential election

Poroshenko won 55.9 percent of the vote, former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko 12.9 percent of the vote, and Oleh Lyashko, 8 percent, Xinhua reported citing the national exit poll.

Another exit poll, conducted by the TNS pollster at television channels' order, indicates that Poroshenko got 57.3 percent of the vote, Tymoshenko 12.4 percent and Lyashko 8.7 percent.

US president pays surprise visit to Afghanistan

Barack ObamaKabul, May 26 - US President Barack Obama paid a surprise visit to Afghanistan Sunday, an Afghan official said.

The US president arrived in the Bagram air base in north of Kabul, the main US base in Afghanistan, late Sunday, Xinhua quoted an official source as saying on condition of anonymity.

The aim of his trip is reported to meet American soldiers on a memorial day weekend and he will also visit the injured soldiers who got wounded in Afghanistan conflicts.

Obama is not planning to meet President Hamid Karzai and the two leading presidential candidates of upcoming presidential runoff, the media reported.
