London, May 24 - NASA last week announced that it has activated a plant growth system on the International Space Station. The Veggie chamber in space garden provides lighting and nutrients for seeds but relies on cabin conditions for temperature control and carbon dioxide, and astronauts have to water it, New Scientist reported.

On May 8, NASA astronaut Steve Swanson turned on the system's LED lights and put six plant "pillows" inside the chamber.

London, May 24 - British Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has said that he has decided his new coach although he would not be making any announcement until after the conclusion of the French Open.

The Scot has been without a coach since ending a two-year partnership with Ivan Lendl in March.

According to the BBC, Murray said that he believes the person he has chosen shares a desire to work together even though he admitted that he has not formally offered the position.

London, May 24 - Barclays Bank Plc, British second largest bank in assets term, has been fined 26 million pounds (about $43 million) for gold pricing misconduct, Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said Friday.

The bank failed to adequately manage conflicts of interest between itself and its customers, and has been detected systems and controls failings in relation to the Gold Fixing, Xinhua quoted the Britain's financial industry watchdog as saying in a statement.

These failures continued from 2004 to 2013, FCA added.

Edinburgh, May 24 - Scotland's Clydesdale Bank said Friday that it will next year release Britain's first plastic banknotes to mark the 125th anniversary of the Forth Bridge -- a rail bridge in Britain.

The bank will release two million five pound notes from March 2015 to coincide with the anniversary of the opening of the rail bridge, Xinhua quoted the bank as saying.

The Clydesdale Bank note, which is smaller than the existing notes, celebrates the nomination of the Forth Bridge for inclusion in the UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2014.

Los Angeles, May 24 : Singer Rita Ora was nervous writing "I Will Never Let You Down" with her boyfriend and musician Calvin Harris.

The 23-year-old said that she initially refused Hariis' idea to record a song together and was wary of putting her emotions down into words because she didn't want to jinx their relationship, reports contactmusic. com.

"I thought it was a bad idea. I said- 'I don't know what's gonna happen, babe.' All that political s**t, I didn't want to think about it. But when we started to write, it happened so naturally it felt right," said Ora.

Mumbai, May 23 : Several Bollywood personalities are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and his cabinet at Rashtrapati Bhavan Monday, according to sources.

Among the prominent names, who have reportedly been invited, is Lata Mangeshkar who in January this year blessed Modi in Mumbai and wished him all success in his endeavours.

Others include superstar Salman Khan, who met Modi in Ahmedabad during the kite flying festival for a film promotion a few months ago.
