Kolkata: An IIFT functionary said that exporters will be hurt with the continuing rupee appreciation as against the USD dollar as they could soak up the exchange shock only upto Rs 42 per dollar.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade director K T Chacko, said, “To our understanding exporters can absorb exchange shock upto Rs 42 for a dollar while now has breached the Rs 40 mark.”

Dumas (Gujarat), Sept 22 : Thousands of fish have been found dead along the coast in Gujarat State.

Initial investigation suggests an oil spill as the possible cause.

Those residing along the Dumas Beach, which is about 30 kilometers from Surat City, have expressed alarm over the incident.

Officials, who conducted a probe, said the dead fish were sticky, which suggested they had been covered by oil and chemicals.

New Delhi, Sept 22 : ONGC Videsh Ltd (OVL) will sign Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) for three deep water exploration blocks with the Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE), a Myanmar government's undertaking.

Petroleum Minister Murli Deora, who is leaving on Sunday for a two-day visit to Myanmar, will also attend the signing of the contract.

Deora will be accompanied by Petroleum Secretary M S Srinivasan and OVL MD R S Butola.

The move follows a raid on Mr. Singh’s house a day earlier.

A CBI group raided the Gurgaon home of retired Major General V K Singh, on Friday, who is the former official of the Research and Analysis Wing or RAW.
