Washington, Sept 17: Actress Keira Knightely failed to overcome her habit of breaking important props while filming, for she recently broke two crucial items on the set of period drama ‘Atonement’.

The 22-year-old actress, who faces difficulty in keeping film props intact, broke an exclusively designed Chanel necklace and a lighter while filming ‘Atonement’.

"I was wearing a Chanel necklace and it got stuck,” Contactmusic quoted Knightely, as saying.

Washington, Sept 17: Hispanic star, Jennifer Lopez wants to be a part of the Spice Girls’ impending world tour.

The singer/actress wants to join the band on their reunion gigs, which will begin in Los Angeles later this year in Los Angeles.

"I'd love to get back out there on tour and I'd really like to perform on the same stage as the Spice Girls,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

Posh Spice Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez are very good friends, and incidentally, JLo’s favourite Spice Girl is also Victoria.

Washington, Sept 17: New recommendations for the diagnosis, management and prevention of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) have been made by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD).

The latest standards lay stress on the importance of proper diagnosis, evaluation of the disease’s severity, and better understanding of co-morbidities to improve treatment of disease.

Bangalore, Sept. 17 (ANI): The Karnataka Government's decision to ban the use of mobile phones in schools and colleges for children under the age of 16, has evoked a positive response.

Christy Vijir, a student from St. Joseph Boys School, said that the using of mobile phones distracts and corrupts students mind, and the ban was a good decision.

K. Nagaraj, the Principal of the Poorna Prajna School, said: “Mobile phones should be banned in schools as it would help students to concentrate better.”

Cairo, Sept 17: Egyptian archaeologists have found rare medical and astronomical manuscripts at the country’s National Library (also known as Dar al-Kotob).

A senior official at Alexandria Library said the ancient documents were just laying forgotten in the Dar al-Kotob archives for many years, but were then “technically rediscovered” due to the efforts of the Centre for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT).

“They are really priceless,” Egyptian State Information Service quoted the official as saying.
