Mumbai, April 7 : Actress Vidya Balan has become Bollywood's quintessential ambassador of the sari, and when an Australian designer was asked to create an ensemble for her, she couldn't think beyond the six-yard wonder either.

As part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2014, festival ambassador Vidya did a photoshoot with celebrated Australian designer Susan Dimasi.

Dimasi presented Vidya in a special sari, the fabric of which was specially designed by her. The sari was the result of handweaving a textile with silk ribbon through a rubber net.

New Delhi, April 7 : Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh Monday termed the BJP as a "party of Kumbhkarnas" and said its election manifesto is a hastily prepared document which promises programmes already underway over the past 10 years.

"There are two or three other features of the manifesto which invite comment. Reading the party's manifesto it seems they are a party of 'Kumbakarnas' as they have promised schemes which are already underway over the last 10 years," Ramesh told media persons here.

Mumbai, April 7 : Actress Kangana Ranaut says her next movie "Revolver Rani" has the flavour of a pulp fiction novel by Hindi writer Ved Prakash Sharma.

Talking about the movie, Kangana said: "This is actually a character of a neurotic and the woman who we are going to see and the film that we are going to see is very exciting just like Ved Prakash Sharma's novels that you find on railway stations. That's the kind of treatment the film is carrying."

Washington, April 7 : An ancient Egyptian mummy - found with an intact brain but no heart - has left researchers puzzled as why the heart was removed.

The mummy also has a plaque on her abdomen, probably to ritually heal her, said a team of researchers that examined the female body with CT scans.

The woman probably lived around 1,700 years ago, at a time when Egypt was under Roman rule and Christianity was spreading, media reports said.

The mummy and its coffin, now at the Redpath Museum at McGill University in Montreal, were purchased at Luxor in the 19th century.

New Delhi, April 7 : BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Monday pledged to provide good governance if his party was voted to power in the Lok Sabha elections, and said he would never do anything with wrong intent.

"I will work hard to fulfill the responsibilities given to me and will not leave any stone unturned... I will never do anything for myself ever and I will never do anything with wrong intent... I assure you," said Modi at the release of party manifesto.

Modi said the Bharatiya Janata Party's aim was to provide a strong and united India which would enjoy the world's respect.

New Delhi, April 7 : AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, who is contesting the Lok Sabha election from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, will cast his vote in the national capital that goes to the polls April 10.

Aam Aadmi Party sources said Kejriwal has applied to the Election Commission for his voter identity card with the address as Tilak Lane in central Delhi. He will not cast his vote in Varanasi.
