Ranchi, Dec 29 : BJP president Rajnath Singh Sunday compared the party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi with Lord Rama.

"As Manthara in the Ramayana hatched a conspiracy to prevent Rama from becoming the king of Ayodhya, similarly the Congress is hatching a
conspiracy against Modi," Rajnath Singh told a public rally here.

"But despite Manthara's conspiracy, Rama became the king. Similarly, Modi will become the prime minister," he added to loud cheers.

Washington, Dec. 29 : President Barack Obama's plan to curb the National Security Agency 's mass storage of phone data is already facing resistance.

Obama last week suggested that he was open to the idea of requiring phone companies to store the records and allowing the government to search them under strict guidelines.

According to CNET, major phone companies argue that being required to store metadata for an extended period of time for the NSA would be costly, time consuming, and risky.

Washington, Dec. 29 : BlackBerry has pulled the latest update to the Twitter app for BlackBerry 10.

The struggling company said Twitter version 10.2.2 has been removed from BlackBerry World due to user reported issues.

It added that the company would actively investigate and provide an update here when Twitter 10.2.2 has been reposted.

According to CNET, version 10.2.2 of the app, which was just released on December 17, brought several enhancements, including BBM connectivity, timeline photo previews, and improved search and reply functions.

New Delhi, Dec. 29 : Public works Development, Urban Development and Education development minister Manish Sisodia said on Sunday that Delhi people have a lot of problems and AAP will ask the citizens to write letters to the government.

"We are asking them to write in a letter all the problems they are facing which will be directed to the concerned departments," he said.

"We are consolidating a route map, when there is a progress, I will intimate media," he added.

Ghaziabad, Dec 29 : Samajwadi Party leader Kamal Farooqui Sunday met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and expressed a desire to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), party sources said.

Farooqui, a former Samajwadi Party national secretary, met Kejriwal at his residence here for an hour.

AAP sources quoted Kejriwal as telling Farooqui that he will discuss the matter with his party colleagues and take a decision.

Emerging from the meeting, Farooqui said: "There is a pro-AAP wave in the country. I had a long chat with Kejriwal but he is not well."

Singapore, Dec 29 : Singapore Sunday said it regretted the visit by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the Yasukuni shrine commemorating those who died in the service of the Japanese empire.

"Our consistent position has been that such visits reopen old grievances, and are unhelpful to building trust and confidence in the region," Xinhua reported quoting a statement by the foreign ministry spokesman.

It also added that tensions in the region have been rising due to the recent series of events, actions and counter-actions, taken by a number of different parties.
