Vikram Bakshi, the ousted managing director of Connaught Plaza Restaurants Private Ltd (CPRL), has accused joint venture partner McDonald's of using invasive tactics to bring the JV to a grinding halt.

On 3rd of December, McDonald's Corp's senior vice president & international relationship partner Robert Larson wrote a letter to the company's Delhi team, declaring that the fast food chain's joint venture with Connaught Plaza Restaurants had been terminated.

India needs to develop a strong domestic electronics and telecommunications manufacturing base to avoid difficulties in financing huge imports of these products, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Thursday.

Delivering his speech after inaugurating the `India Telecom 2013,' Mr. Singh stressed on the need of manufacturing facilities in the country to have a balanced trade in electronics products.

Mumbai, Dec 6 : "Let there be a fourth war between India and Pakistan to teach them a lesson," Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray said Friday.

Pakistan has thrice been taught a lesson in past wars, but that has not had a deterrent effect on that country so it needs to be taught a lesson again, Thackeray said in an editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana' Friday.

Jammu, Dec 6 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said Friday that he hoped his father would immediately apologise for his comments on women, which the son said were most likely made in a lighter vein.

Reacting to the barrage of criticism levelled against union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Resources Farooq Abdullah over an alleged sexist comment against women, Omar Abdullah said on his micro blogging twitter site Friday: "I am sure the attempt wasn't to trivialise important issue of women's security, so I hope dad apologises for the misplaced attempt at humour".

New Delhi, Dec. 6 : A 19 member parliamentary delegation led by Hovik Abrahamyan, President (Speaker) of the National Assembly of Armenia called on President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Thursday.

Welcoming the delegation, Mukherjee said since ancient times, India and Armenia have enjoyed historical and civilizational ties.
