Private sector lender Yes Bank on Friday confirmed the elevation of its three top executives as whole-time directors, even as the controversy over the nomination of the bank's co-founder Ashok Gogia's appointment as a member of the board remains unresolved.

At its meeting held on Thursday, June 27, the board of directors approved the elevation of executive director & CFO Rajat Monga, wholesale banking executive director Sanjay Palve and branch & retail banking executive director Pralay Mondal to the positions of whole-time directors.

Shares of energy companies like Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), ONGC and Oil India jumped on Friday, a day after the government announced a considerable increase in the price of natural gas.

The government on Thursday increased the price of natural gas from current price range of $3.5-5.73 per million metric British thermal units (mmBtu) to $8.4 per mmBtu.

The new price will take effect from 1st of April, 2014, for a period of five years.

New Delhi, June 28 : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Friday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here and sought a financial relief of Rs. 1,000 crore for relief and restoration work in the rain-ravaged areas of the state.

The chief minister said the loss to private and public property in the unprecedented rains has been estimated at Rs. 2,575 crore.

New Delhi, June 28 : The $1 million Indian Badminton League (IBL) scheduled Aug 14-31, will hold its players' auction here on July 19.

More than 150 players are expected to go under the hammer at the auction for 66 slots for the six teams: Hyderabad HotShots (Hyderabad), Karnataka Kings (Bangalore), Lucknow Warriors (Lucknow), Mumbai Masters (Mumbai), Pune Vijetas (Pune) and Rajdhani Smashers (Delhi). Each franchise can feature 11 players, with a maximum of four foreign shuttlers and one Under-19 player from their catchment area.

Chennai, June 28 : Kolkata-based Hindustan Motors Ltd (HML) said Friday it will contract manufacture sports utility vehicles (SUV) at its Thiruvallur plant near here for Isuzu Motors India Private Ltd.

In a statement issued here, Hindustan Motors said it has signed a contract manufacturing agreement with Isuzu Motors India, a subsidiary of Japan's Isuzu Motors to roll out SUVs and pickup trucks.

"The components for producing these vehicles will be imported by Isuzu Motors from Thailand and assembled in HML's factory," the statement said.
