Walmart on top of Fortune 500 list

According to Fortune, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is on top of the Fortune 500 list for the third straight year, remaining the largest company in the country.

Revenue of Wal-Mart was $485.7 billion in its fiscal year, ending on January 31; it was over $100 billion ahead of number two, Exxon Mobil of Irving, Texas; the company had revenue of $382.6 billion last year.

Chevron, which is based in San Ramon, Calif., was at third position with $203.8 billion in revenue last year. Berkshire Hathaway of Omaha, Neb., Warren Buffet's conglomerate of companies, held fourth position with $194.7 billion in revenue. General Motors of Detroit was at fifth position with $155.9 billion in revenue.

Walt Disney replaces 250 employees with Indians H1-B workers

According to reports, Walt Disney has replaced nearly 250 employees with Indians on H1-B visa. And now, a US Senator has demanded an investigation into the 'potential misuses' of the popular H1-B visa programme.

Democratic Senator Bill Nelson of Florida has demanded the probe into the temporary visa programme for highly skilled immigrants. He asked for the probe following a report in The New York Times that claimed that technology employees at Walt Disney World in Orlando and other companies were replaced by immigrants and even had to train their replacements.

As per a report, Nelson asked Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to examine 'potential misuses' of the H-1B visa programme.

Vodafone in talks with Liberty Global PLC

According to Vodafone Group PLC, it is in talks with Liberty Global PLC over an 'exchange of selected assets'. This could lead the two companies to a new deal related to European television and communications.

British telecommunications giant said that talks have just begun and there have not been any discussions over a complete merger with Liberty Global. In recent days, Mr. Malone publicly showed that there is a possibility of such a deal, which will lead to increased shares of Vodafone. Liberty Global is a US-based cable operator controlled by John Malone and it focuses on Europe.
