Nomad Foods interested to acquire units of Findus Group for €800m

Nomad Foods has offered around _800m to acquire the Nordic and southern European units of Findus Group. Findus Group is one of Europe's biggest frozen food and seafood companies. Its headquarters are in the UK, where it runs the Young's Seafood business, which sells branded products and also supplies major UK grocers with private label seafood.

Nomad Foods closed a €2.6 billion deal for Iglo Foods on June 1. The move for Findus Group has progressed fast since the takeover of Iglo by Nomad.

On Thursday, Findus Group confirmed that the Nordic unit is also part of the talks, as well as the business in southern Europe.

Yahoo to shut some media services by end of June

Yahoo is planning to shut a few of its services including Yahoo Maps and Yahoo Pipes as the service faces intense competition from Google Inc.'s Maps service.

According to reports, Walt Disney has replaced nearly 250 employees with Indians on H1-B visa. And now, a US Senator has demanded an investigation into the 'potential misuses' of the popular H1-B visa programme.

Democratic Senator Bill Nelson of Florida has demanded the probe into the temporary visa programme for highly skilled immigrants. He asked for the probe following a report in The New York Times that claimed that technology employees at Walt Disney World in Orlando and other companies were replaced by immigrants and even had to train their replacements.

As per a report, Nelson asked Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to examine 'potential misuses' of the H-1B visa programme.

Vodafone in talks with Liberty Global PLC

According to Vodafone Group PLC, it is in talks with Liberty Global PLC over an 'exchange of selected assets'. This could lead the two companies to a new deal related to European television and communications.

British telecommunications giant said that talks have just begun and there have not been any discussions over a complete merger with Liberty Global. In recent days, Mr. Malone publicly showed that there is a possibility of such a deal, which will lead to increased shares of Vodafone. Liberty Global is a US-based cable operator controlled by John Malone and it focuses on Europe.
