Only a few Boston Marathon bomb Survivors seek help for Invisible Injuries

In April 2013, bombs that exploded in the Boston Marathon killed three individuals and injured more than 250 others. Two years just after the bombings, only a few survivors seem to be taking advantage of totally free wellness programs meant to help survivors cope with anxiety, stress, insomnia and some other kinds of invisible injuries that can be just as serious as losing a limb.

According to reports, only 42 survivors took remedy for such troubles via the 1 Fund Center. The totally free wellness program was launched in September to help the victims who received payouts from the key charity established in the wake of the blasts.

American Cancer Society Searching for Teams to Participate in Relay For Life of Hunterdon County Event

The American Cancer Society is looking for teams from businesses, schools, families, places of worship, and more with an aim to take part in the Relay For Life of Hunterdon County event.

The event is scheduled to take place on June 13-14 at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington. Relay For Life teams are dedicated to end the fight against cancer and also to raise funds in order to back the American Cancer Society's lifesaving mission. It is a community-based event that involves teams and individuals to set up campsites at a school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path.

Plucking hair in a specific pattern could help hair regrowth

Findings of a new study have revealed that plucking your hair is a good way to prevent baldness. The study claimed that plucking hair not only helps hair grow back, but new ones also grow nearby. The study was conducted by Cheng-Ming Chuong, Principal Investigator of USC (University of Southern California) Stem Cell. The study was based on the "quorum sensing" principle.

Through the study, the researchers determined that plucking 200 hairs in a particular density and pattern helped in generation of 1,200 hairs to grow. The study was conducted on a mouse and began a couple of years ago when Chen came from Taiwan at USC.

Motion sickness or car sickness commonly affects individuals while riding a self-driving car.

According to a research from the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, 6-12% of American passengers in autonomous vehicles would suffer from moderate to severe motion sickness. The problem would be worsened by activities like texting or reading.

Motion sickness, which is also called airsickness or kinetosis causes severe headaches, nausea and vomiting. People usually choose to ride a self-driving car as it improves mobility, enabling them able to do whatever they want such as make-ups and changing clothes, reading without worrying of the road.

Russian Man suffering from Muscle Wasting Disease to Undergo Human Head Transplant Surgery

A 30-year-old computer scientist from Russia is the first man who will undergo the world's first complete head transplant. The surgery would be carried out by Dr Sergio Canavero on Valery Spiridonov, who is suffering from a severe muscle wasting disease.

Spiridonov confessed that the whole idea of the surgery is terrifying for him. But he does not have many options and if he does not try this choice then he might repent later. With passage of time, his health is deteriorating.

Spiridonov, who is suffering from the rare genetic Werdnig-Hoffman muscle wasting disease, said that his decision to undergo the surgery is final and has no plans to change it.
