Researchers have recently developed a self-propelled liquid metal motor that could give rise to the creation of a robot like T-1000, the robot seen in Hollywood movie Terminator 2. The first liquid metal robot of the world was developed by researchers from the Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The unique features of the robot include its ability to power itself and change shapes.

"The soft machine looks rather intelligent and [can] deform itself according to the space it voyages in, just like [the] Terminator does from the science-fiction film. These unusual behaviors perfectly resemble the living organisms in nature", said Jing Liu at the Tsinghua University.

Last week, a group of scientists and anglers captured an 800 pounds and 14 feet long stingray in Thailand's Mae Klong River. According to reports, the massive stingray could be the world's largest freshwater fish ever taken on rod and reel.

The capture was made in the Amphawa District. As per the reports, the stingray fights differently that other fish when hooked, but it wasn't an easy task for the anglers to catch the massive fish. The reports stated that it took several hours to catch the fish. About seven men fought in the epic battle. After catching, the fish was taken out of the water for further examinations.

The Obama administration has decided to double the size of two federal marine sanctuaries off California's north-central coast. The areas are described as 'blue Serengeti' by scientists. On Thursday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced that the size of Gulf of the Farallones and Cordell Bank national marine sanctuaries will be expanded. The decision has been taken after more than a decade of debate and research.

Lockheed Martin, on Thursday, has revealed that it is one of the companies, competing for a contract to fly cargo to the International Space Station for NASA.

The proposal is not part of Lockheed's ongoing partnership, including arrangements through United Launch Alliance, the joint-venture it operates with Boeing, to provide Atlas 5 rockets and launch services to two other bidders.

Alike competitors Boeing and Sierra Nevada Corp., Lockheed would also use an Atlas 5 rocket to fly its cargo ship. It would include a reusable canister-like tug called Jupiter and a cargo carrier called Exoliner.

The UK space agency revealed in an announcement on Friday about its plans to work with space tech companies Clyde Space and Outernet to provide worldwide space-based Internet access.

"A partnership with the UK Space Agency is a very exciting step for Outernet. It not only demonstrates a meeting of the minds on the importance of information access, but shows that there can be very concrete economic windfalls from doing enormous good in the world", the company's CEO, Syed Karim, said in a news release.
