Mumbai: Gold prices declined further at the bullion market here Thursday due to weak demand from jewellery stockists as well as consistent selling by investors amid sluggish overseas sentiment.

Silver also drifted down on speculative unwinding coupled with lack of industrial buying support.

Standard gold (99.5 purity) dropped by Rs 135 to end at Rs 27,810 per 10 grams from overnight level of Rs 27,945.

Pure gold (99.9 purity) shed Rs 140 to end at Rs 27,955 per 10 grams compared to Rs 28,095 previously.

Silver (.999 fineness) fell by Rs 145 to finish at Rs 45,450 per kg from Wednesday's level of Rs 45,595.

Washington, July 24 : Researchers have recently raised questions regarding Voyager 1 not reaching in the interstellar space, after it was announced in 2012 that the spacecraft has traveled further from Earth than any other manmade object.

Some scientists have said that the spacecraft was still within the heliosphere, the region of space dominated by the Sun and its wind of energetic particles and has not yet reached the space between the stars. However, two Voyager team scientists have developed a test that claimed could prove once and for all if Voyager 1 has crossed the boundary.

Washington, July 24 : Prof. Vladimir Krasnopolsky, researcher from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, has designed a new model that provided the latest data of Titan's atmosphere.

The atmosphere of Saturn's largest moon was described by a model that took into account the presence of 83 neutral molecules and33 ions and420 different chemical reactions between them. Despite the fact that Titan has been located much further from the Sun than the Earth and that radiation flux coming from the Sun to the moon was 100 times less, the intensity of UV rays was enough to spur photochemical reactions in the upper layers of Titan's atmosphere.

London, July 24 : The rising tension in Gaza which has already claimed the lives of almost 700 Palestinians may have witnessed war crimes by Israel, the United Nation's top human rights official has alleged.

According to The Independent, referring to the July 16 attack by Israel in which four Palestinian boys were killed on a beach in Gaza, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said in Geneva that there is a strong possibility that international humanitarian laws have been violated in the conflict and an enquiry must be initiated.

Speaking about the film in which she is playing the role of Olympic boxing champion Mary Kom, the 'Agneepath' star said, "Whatever I am playing, especially a biopic on a living, breathing person who is almost my age, that was the most difficult thing for me to do. If we are working on a biopic, we have to be very particular".
