Bookies back Musharraf to win presidential poll

Lahore, Sept 28 : Bookmakers in Pakistan have declared General Pervez Musharraf the favourite candidate to win the forthcoming presidential election.

Karachi bookmakers have kept the odds of five to one on Musharraf, while odds of one to 40 on two other candidates Amin Fahim and Wajeehuddin Ahmad.

The Daily Times quoted a Geo TV report as saying that after cricket, bookmakers have now received bets worth billions of rupees on who would be the next President and what crucial decisions would be taken in the near future.

Lahore, Sep 28 : Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chief Benazir Bhutto has said that she would accept General Pervez Musharraf as President if the Supreme Court passed a verdict in his favour, and he is re-elected.

Bhutto said that it is for the people of Pakistan to determine who would be President and Prime Minister of the country.

"I will accept the verdict of the court, and I will accept the verdict of the people of Pakistan," she told CNN.

Excessive multivitamin use could increase prostate cancer risk

Washington, Sept 28 : Men need to be cautious about taking multivitamins more than once a day, for a new study has found doing so may increase the risk of prostrate cancer.

The researchers conducting the study also found that though there was no link between multivitamin use and the risk of developing localized prostate cancer, men who took multivitamins more than once a day were 32 percent more likely to develop advanced prostate cancer.

They also found that such men were 98 percent more likely to die from the disease.
