Damascus, Jan 16 : At least 80 people have been killed and 40 others injured when a big blast rocked a university in Syria's northern city of Aleppo on Tuesday, local media said.

The blast rocked the faculty of Information Engineering in the University of Aleppo, the reports said, adding that it was very big and caused many casualties.

The blast was caused by two missiles fired from an area close to al-Layramoun roundabout by some gunmen, who were trying to bring down a war jet flying overhead, the reports said.

Washington, January 16 : In vitro fertilization (IVF) is associated with an increased risk of pulmonary embolism - blockage of the main artery of the lung - and venous thromboembolism - blood clots - during the first trimester of pregnancy, researchers say.

IVF has been used since 1978 for the 10 percent of couples worldwide affected by infertility. Approximately five million individuals have so far been born after IVF.

It is well known that the risk of blood clots is increased during normal pregnancy, affecting around one in 1000 in the early 1990s.
