New Delhi, April 3 : Luxury automobile manufacturer BMW Thursday launched its premium sports car M6 Gran Coupé priced at Rs. 1.75 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

"With its dynamic expression and luxurious appearance, the all-new BMW M6 Gran Coupé is not just the most attractive coupé in its class, it also provides the best everyday usability," Philipp von Sahr, president, BMW Group India told reporters.

The four-door sports coupé is available at the company's dealerships and has been imported as a CBU (completely built-up) unit.

Mathura, April 3 : Bollywood actress and BJP candidate Hema Malini Thursday filed her nomination papers from the Mathura Lok Sabha constituency, and said she would clean up the Yamuna river and make the region with its many temples a model of development.

Hema Malini is pitted against Jayant Choudhary, the incumbent Rashtriya Lok Dal MP, Chandan Singh of the Samajwadi Party and Yogesh Dwivedi of the Bahujan Samaj Party.

The Aam Aadmi Party's Anuj Garg is also in the fray.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Mukesh Keshav said she filed two sets of papers.

Islamabad, April 3 : A petition was submitted in the Supreme Court Thursday for the removal of former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf's name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The petition was submitted on behalf of Musharraf by advocate Shah Khawar. It argued the point that every individual possesses the freedom to travel abroad, Dawn online reported.

The petition also mentioned that the former army strongman should be allowed to travel abroad to visit his ailing mother and also for personal treatment.

London, April 3 : British actress of Indian origin, Archie Panjabi, best known for her role in “The Good Wife”, has been cast in the upcoming disaster movie “San Andreas”.

The action thriller, slated for a 2015 release, is to be directed by Brad Peyton and will see Panjabi playing a reporter.

Panjabi made her film debut in the hit British film “East Is East” in 1999 and went on to star in international blockbusters like “Bend It Like Beckham” in 2002.

In 2010, she bagged the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in “The Good Wife” at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards in London.

The labour is urging the UK government to ban the importation of fruit from high risk areas following the discovery of second Queensland fruit fly in Whangarei.

The fly was discovered in a Ministry for Primary Industriesroutine surveillance on 1 April. The fly was identified yesterday. The fly was trapped in the Parihaka area of Whangarei, which is only 400m from where a Queensland fruit fly was found during the month of January. The Ministry for Primary Industries has set up a 1.5 kilometre controlled area around Parihaka after the fruit fly was found/
